He writes in a relatable manner, like a trusted friend giving great advice. I immediately employed his techniques into my life -- and marriage to the delight of my husband. The bond between us has strengthened noticeably in the last few weeks, which says a lot for our 25 year marriage that was already tight. The emotional mastery we are developing as a result of this book is enabling us to have new found clarity. We discovered exhilarating new depth between us. The first step is getting real within, and then bringing that wisdom to any relationship is invaluable. I highly recommend this book.

As a parent coach, I highly recommend this book for parents looking for reassurance that they are not imagining their toddler's anxiety. The practical solutions paired with the anecdotes are so useful for parents needing guidance on helping their anxious toddler. I particularly love the chapters based on issues like meltdowns, bed time, and managing fears! Natasha has really crafted an awesome book that sheds light on a common issue with toddlers that oftentimes gets overlooked!

Easy to read and very topical By Amazon Customer This book provides a very easy to understand explanation of the reasons behind some the behaviors of kids that can be confusing. I like that the book is filled with insight into the toddler's perspective and with actual stories to exemplify these issues, I can readily relate.I feel I am better prepared to respond effectively in more situations instead of being frustrated. This is a must have reference for any parent of young kids.

What I love about this book is the way it helps you understand how to help your child, but also how to handle your own emotions through the difficult process of navigating anxiety. With tons of case studies and approaches to handling a variety of anxiety inducing situations and triggers, the book is really comprehensive. From fairly typical fears (separation, the dark, monsters) to less common and more nuanced fears (letting go of things, dust bunnies, bouncy houses), the author gives detailed advice on how to handle what might at first seem like your child's "irrational" responses. More than just helping you figure out how to manage your child's anxiety at home, I like that it also delves into helping your child better interact with other kids and fostering independence.

By Thomas Law We have all been children and are the results, for good or bad, of our homes of origin. Unfortunately, dysfunctionality is rampant in our society and our families carry the brunt of that mess. Since our children learn how to “parent” their children from us we, too often, pass our dysfunctional characteristics on to the next generation and so on. It is time to put a stop to this process and develop healthy self-aware and self-actualizing children who can do the same for their children. In this new book by Thomas Gagliano describes these dysfunctional traits in clear understandable, sometime humorous, formats. I read it from cover to cover and I don't usually read or review books but this is one that I wanted to read.The book covers a variety of topics about parenthood, including how the parents' childhoods can affect them as adults, and how they can pass on dysfunctional behaviors to their children. There's also a lot of talk about bullying and what part kids can play (bully, victim, bystander, etc) and why they might do it based on the messages they get from home (their parents). The book also talks about solutions to overcome dysfunction and "clean up your crap"... but you must first become aware of the "crap".Bottom line is that this book will help you with set good boundaries that create healthy habits so that your kids can make healthy decisions, and do it on their own.I don't think there's much else I can say that isn't already said in the book's description or in the other reviews. I'm just going to say that I thought this was a very good book overall and would definitely recommend it, especially to parents.NOTE: I was sent a free product sample for review. I was not paid or told what to write.

The title of the book certainly gets your attention (!), but when you start reading it, you realize the author provides concrete help with the most important and difficult job we all have--being a better parent to your kids than the parenting you received. This volume shows you how to avoid the family cycles of dysfunction, and enable your children to experience a healthy, loving sense of self that you didn't have. It's hard work, but he shows you than it can be done. An encouraging, excellent read!

Wacky and Fantastic By Pop Bop Patrick Carman has a number of very successful book series to his credit, but the "Floors" books strike me as the most fun. The Land of Elyon books involve a young heroine's adventures beyond a walled vaguely medieval city in a fantastic world threatened by evil. The Atherton books are set on a completely imagined multi-tiered satellite world that is in danger of collapse. These are all quest/adventure fantasies that turn heavily on creative world building.And then of course you have the 39 Clues books and the Skeleton Creek books, which have explored where and how far middle grade fiction and multimedia tie-ins can go."Floors" expends no effort in trying to make the fantastical Whippet Hotel plausible or in trying to make the hotel's owner, Merganzer D. Whippet, at all realistic. That's just not the point. "Wacky" appears like a zillion times in descriptions of this book, and it fits. This is a fantasy/adventure where things being outrageous and unreal is sort of the point. From the characters and their relationships to the floating Whippet Hotel Roof to the field of crazy inventions to the plot - everything is hyper and fantastic.This can become exhausting but it does make for a fun read for a youngster ready to move beyond chapter books. The action is frantic, almost literally non-stop, but each episode ties up neatly before the next one begins so a younger reader can keep track of what's happening as the book progresses. There is very broad, burp-based, humor, but also some sly and rather sophisticated asides that keep the book from being too cartoonish. A nice touch is that the author avoids having anyone be, ultimately, a bad guy or villain, and while just desserts are handed out the various characters' endings are generally happy.The upshot is that you get a pretty wild ride with engaging characters, loads of action, some interesting puzzles, and cheerful energy to burn. All in all, a nice find.Please note that I received a free advance ecopy of this book in exchange for a candid review. If the author is reading this, then I request that they make more floors books, or at least more books with Leo, Remi, and the whole whippet gang.

Allie and Megan will never have a dull moment in their lives and this round is no different. Megan and Sally are moving forward in their lives only to have Megan disrupt the silence of a murder spree gone cold from over twenty years earlier. The mystery is laid out well and it is not easy to catch the hints of the culprit. There is a sense of creepiness that crawls right in and snuggles up to Megan as she begins to spiral downward...she is now being stalked. As if having her abusive husband hunting her down in the last book, Megan is now center stage for a secret love who obsesses over her and her life. Will Megan ever find peace? Does she finally fall in love and get to enjoy life? Well I am not going to give away the ending but it surely was miles of switchbacks before she was able to move forward. A great read, clean enough for young teens and juicy enough for the adults.I received an Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for my honest review and feel I have done this book justice. I would recommend this book to all my friends. A.Morgan has once again captured a crazy, insane and drama filled life with ease and great poise.

Megan has collapsed and the story is told in flashback back to the time where Mike dies up to her Megan's collapse. There is more going on than we knew. Megan becomes part of the family since she and Sally are living on the ranch. Mark is in love with her. She is going through Mark's family's home to clean it out when she comes across Mark's mother's journals. In there is the reason why she died but no one wants to believe her until the stalker comes after Megan.I like these characters. They are good solid people who live life and take care of one another. The mystery is good. It is solid. I had lots of suspects but did not figure it out until it was explained in the end. The proofreading needed improvement. These characters and the story deserve it. Some questions were not answered that I felt should have been.I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next one.

Stepping on it, the poor thing let out a horrible screech. Mark reached down and picked up the little thing, holding it to his chest he stroked it trying to calm it down. “It’s okay kitten. I didn’t mean to step on you. Will you be alright?” He held it cradled in his hand while stroking its fur with his other. “I don’t think anything is broken.” More humor, mayhem and romance in book two Mark was quite the character I liked this book.

"Guidebook" aimed at kids By Hayley Potter It aims to be a kind of "guidebook" as though you're a visitor at Jurassic World.3 stars just because it's not very long or in-depth, but would be fun for a child as it includes stickers and dinosaur cut-out cards.Very die-hard adult Jurassic fans might also appreciate it for memorabilia purposes as it includes a map of the island.

He loves it and says it's "Awesome and terrific!" He especially loves the stickers and cards in it.If you want a more substantial book get the 'Jurassic World Field Guide'. He also received it for Christmas and immediately upon opening said "Thank you, Santa! This is just what I wanted!" We've read it before bed every night since he received it.

Written for the younger set, but still good fun. Try to match the stickers with the animals, and you can even play a game with the provided cards. This is just the thing for children, as it is not scary, and a lot of fun for both parents and kids alike. I recommend it highly.

In this one, Tractor Mac goes to the county fair to compete against the big tractors and comes up short. However, on his way home, he fixes the broken carousel to the delight of all the children proving that there is more than one way to be a winner.

Graduating from Kansas State University with degrees in Psychology and Anthropology led to a lifelong love of tattooing. Lance is a practitioner and instructor of tattooing in Kansas, and has been plying this trade for nearly twenty five years. And through all that time, there have been stories to tell. You might hear a verbal history of Ancient Egypt, or the Indus River valley, or maybe a classic multi-issue arc from one of his favorite comic series. He might perform a film, or, if you are very lucky, he might tell you one of his own. This oral tradition is what forged Paladin and all the characters from his world, as well as dozens of others. His first foray into professional writing is The Paladin Sequence.

This is one of those books that you pickup and when you put it down you realize you've read the entire book, or that it's 3 in the morning and you cant stay awake to read anymore no matter how bad you want it . Devils Garden was an utter surprise in the most refreshing and needed way in a sea of dry underdeveloped characters and pathetically predictable plots in so many of the books released as of late this one will wake that inner fiend that demands one more page before your eyes close for the night. The characters are magnificently developed and the overall writing and story telling here is masterful. I would recommend this 10/10 to anyone that enjoys reading and losing themselves in the world laid out before them, very easy to do here. I hope this was helpful and I really hope you enjoy this one as mush as I did. Looking forward to the next one in line !!

By ijtraudt This book is amazing, the author's knowledge of demonology is obvious when reading the book. The book was well worth the money. I have never been much of a fan of movies like the Exorcist or the like but this is so much deeper then just a simple exorcism. The book almost felt like the author was writing about personal experiences and not fiction.

A Well-Formed Foray into the Fantastic By Jared Magee A far cry from the benevolent Homeric daemons of old, the demons of Devil’s Garden make for spectacular beings, the stuff of nightmares, in many cases. In truth, this astonishing world is writhing with vivacity, both horrifying and inspiring. Fantasy with a healthy dose of the noir detective tradition, Tuck’s first foray into his The Paladin Sequence fuses together different cultures’ ideas of the Other, appropriating Biblical, Quranic, and even quasi-Animistic traditions to make for a well-crafted universe that can terrify, while making a reader want to go back and explore their own beliefs regarding the spiritual realms that might be. In a reality where humans can be mere vessels for more powerful forces and the metaphysical becomes material, Tuck allows readers to keenly seen “through a glass half darkly” and question who they are and what makes the universe go round. Horror, Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Detective fiction fans alike will be quite pleased with this novel, as will anyone with an appreciation for a good story!

By b00k r3vi3ws I had borrowed ‘The Pricey Thakur Girls’ from a friend and had enjoyed the reading experience of it. So it was a no-brainer that I would pick this book up too. Only this time I delved into the book with some expectations.The Thakur girls are back and this book is all about how the family wants to sell the house that BJ built. While the central plot deals with that, there are parallel storylines involving the central characters. On one hand we have Samar’s journey of making a film and on the other hand we have Bonu trying to keep her promise to her late mother. And then there is the blooming relationship between Satish and Eshwari.The many characters in the book play their roles to perfection. Some have grown over two books while some have been late bloomers. The characterization plays an important role in shaping up the book. It is the character relationship and interactions, the family drama and politics that keeps the book entertaining and going. Since Bonita comes across as the stand out protagonist in this book, I have to say that I had a love-hate relationship with her and Samar in the book. I oscillated between loving and hating them as the book progressed and they absolutely drove me nuts. The easy flowing Hin-glish language and a narrative style that oozes humour keeps a reader hooked to the book. Romance, Drama and Comedy fill the pages of this book.Like I said, having read ‘The Pricey Thakur Girls’, I picked up this book with certain expectations. While most of them were well met, this installment doesn’t really live up to the mark its predecessor made. Still, it is quite entertaining and a quick one-time read.

By Smriti I loved Those Pricey Thakur Girls and was really looking forward to this one. While Chauhan's writing style is as fresh and entertaining as ever, this book didn't really hold me. The plot was well crafted and fun, and as ever, even the smallest of characters was well-rounded.For some reason though, it is hard to empathise with Bonu. She's a real character, flaws and all, but her choices and attitude didn't appeal to me and I don't do very well with books where I dislike the protagonist. Samar is the quintessential hero, honourable and decent. But I notice that many authors tend to make their women a lot more flawed (and even real) than their men. What is it that drives them to so? Is it only typical to women writers? I'm not sure.All in all, a fun, quick read even if it's not up to the high standards that Chauhan has set for herself.

By Karen Potts Many of the women of Cayboo Creek, South Carolina, have sworn off men, but that all changes when Attalee and Dooley begin planning their wedding. Brewster Clark returns to town, and suddenly the lifelong friendship between Birdie and Mavis is threatened when the two women begin to vie for Brew's attention. Even Mrs. Tobias gets into the act when she begins dating a kindly "Duct Dr." who cleans out heating and A/C ducts for a living. The one person who seems to be discontented is Elizabeth who loves her daughter Glenda but still misses having a job. This is a delightful addition to this wonderful, small-town, feel-good series. One of my favorite parts of these books are the sayings at the beginning of each chapter, such as "When I married Mr. Right I didn't know that his first name was Always." Although readers may have heard them before, they seem to fit into the spirit of the book, and they offer a laugh before each chapter.

By Tonya Speelman Elizabeth thinks she wants to go back to the corporate world, Attalee is getting married, Mrs. Tobias comes out of her shell, but is she comfortable being in different surroundings; Mavis and Birdie are both fawning over the same man, Brewster.What happens in this book is a hoot. How they all get through life though is the secret. Each other! I love these books. No potty words, no sex scenes, and no violence. Just good friends, laughter and life! What more can you ask for.This book leaves you guessing and you won't want to put it down!

Although each very different people, and ranging in ages from Elizabeth's twenty-something to Attalee's eighty, they still have a strong bond tying them together as they've spent their lives living and working near each other. But lately, things are going to get heated up and change...Attalee is bound and determined to wed her 78-year-old boyfriend Dooley, and wants a big wedding with all the trimmings, much to the dismay of her friends. Elizabeth is unhappy being a stay-at-home first time mom and wants to return to work, but her husband Timothy is dead-set against it, having been raised by a succession of nannies while his own mother worked. Mrs. Tobias, who lives nearby in Augusta, is longing for something in her life, but never expects that it will come in the form of Rusty, an attractive man who, although from a different social circle as her, shows her a different way of living and makes her happier than she's been in a long time. And when Brewster Clark, an old high school friend of Mavis and Birdie's returns to town, their close friendship might just be threatened.While Birdie supposedly has supposedly sworn off men, and Mavis figures at her age there probably isn't anyone out there who wants her, both are surprised by the intense rivalry that pops up when Brewster, an ex-football star, returns to Cayboo Creek to take care of a house that was willed to him. Both women have decided to woo the eligible male behind each others' backs. As Brewster convinces Mavis to help him plan a high school reunion, the womens' rivalry intensifies and they stop speaking to each other.Meanwhile, Elizabeth isn't able to convince her husband she hates staying home, and he starts sabotaging all her efforts to find a part time day care so she can look for a job. It gets to the point where they stop speaking to each other. And Attalee, even though she's eighty, wants a real wedding complete with white floor-length gown, veil, bridesmaids, and all the trappings including a bachelorette party.Reading this book, I could almost imaging being in a small town in South Carolina. These women, all widowed save for Elizabeth, have developed a bond for each other, and they're just trying to live every day as best they can, while always hoping that maybe, just maybe, there might be someone out there for them again. And even if they find the person they think might just be the perfect one they want to spend happily-ever-after with, they find that it just could be that what you thought you wanted and what you really wanted aren't the same thing after all. Highly recommended.
