Goddard My husband has 3 children with his first wife and I have 2 special needs children from a previous relationship. When we met our children were all under 6 years old, the youngest being only 2. To say life with the new blended family was rough would have been an understatement, but we held on and now 16+ years later we are still going strong. Three of the 5 kids have moved out and we are now grandparents. I picked up this book on Kindle Unlimited to see what if anything this book on blended families had in common with what my hubby and I went through. The answer I got was a lot. There was a lot of acting out and how we dealt with punishing the children's misbehavior differed greatly. This book has a lot of great advice for newly blended or those that are planning on joining their families together. I also recommend this book to those that also have already gone through the whole blending of the family just so that you know that you are not alone.

God never ceases to amaze me with His timing & ways By Sarah Sprague I read this book last night in one sitting (that ended in a few tears)...it couldn't have been more helpful (to me as a daughter). God never ceases to amaze me with His timing & ways. I really appreciated the heart and honesty in it, especially the straightforward strategies to cope with and work on the challenges that present themselves in a blended family situation. The Scripture stories to correlate gave me a new, needed perspective. Thank you, Anita and Shaun, for sharing your story; I'll work on the courage to pass along my copy & hopefully use it to open dialogue.

Practical tips for how to handle day to day problems that arise from a second marriage with children involved from the first. From the book, "We weren't going to make the same mistakes like last time. Nope, we were going to make whole new ones. We forgot the simple fact we were not walking in with baggage; we were walking in with a caravan of baggage. Our bags had bags." Highly recommended!
