The digital illustrations are charming and humorous. The story is a play on the Oscars – Sock Monkey is nominated for an “Oswald” award for best supporting toy. Sock Monkey has to take a bath to get ready – and he is afraid of baths. His stuffed animal friends help him get clean and he is off to the awards. Will Sock Monkey win? You will be surprised at the answer! This is a fun book and great for children who do not like to take baths.

However, in order to attend the ceremony he has to do something he has never done in his entire life: take a bath. It's a fun little book that many children will enjoy as they, too, are often not pleased to take baths. A welcome addition to the "Sock Monkey" series.

By Emily Great children's book!I use this to get the children I babysit ready for bath time.This book is beautifully written and illustrated! (Cece Bell is one of my favorite children's author and illustrator)Even as an adult I enjoy reading this book because of the silly references hidden inside. [Spoiler: One of the award nominees is a baby and the movie she was in was "Charlotte's Wet". ha!)I have my own copy of this book but also purchased it as a baby shower present along with a sock monkey hooded towel set. (Great cohesive present!) Sock Monkey Hooded Towel and 2 Washcloth Set by Baby Starters - Off-White - Not ApplicableGreat book, lots of laughs.. perfect for you or as a gift!
