By SoozBlooz When the author approached me and asked if I'd like to edit her book about Christians and extra terrestrials, I thought, hmmm, probably not. I am not a fan of science fiction. And yet, every chapter I received kept me entirely hooked, looking hungrily to the next. You new readers are lucky to read this all in one shot! I had to wait (foot tappingly impatient) for each installment. I understand there is a sequel or two (Hooray!) --which is a relief. I want to know what those extra terrestrials are about. They lurk and loom among these pages just enough to give a sense of unease balanced by curiosity.Characters are well-drawn and feel real to me. Even though I finished editing THE WATCHERS months ago, Alana, John and Parson are like far-off relatives and I wonder how they are.Ms. Van Drie tells a good story, and, like the best good stories, it doesn't end but leaves the door open a crack to the next good story.

I was completely invested in it from the onset and (no spoiler-alert as it happens in the beginning of the book) was devastated at the demise of a character I'd immediately grown attached to. The story holds many messages for us in these turbulent times and took me on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. I cried, I laughed, I got angry, I fell in love, and I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation the whole time. I literally could not put it down, yet I didn't want it to end. I read this book in two sittings.The best thing about it .... it's only Book 1, which says to me that there will be more to come ... and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
