About the Author Ava Danielle is an emotional, funny, sarcastic, and loving wife and mom of four over-rambunctious children. Twins included. She married the man of her dreams 15 years ago, following his career between Germany and USA after growing up as an Army Brat. She loves traveling, but doesn't get out nearly enough, so imagination helps her travel the world. She's inspired by music. If it's not the children watching TV, it's spotify on repeat! "I Belong to Him" was her first book ever written, and only because the support of her best friend inspired her to. She plans on writing many more stories.

This is Ava Danielle’s debut novel… By Amelyn Randall ~ Double-Edged Words Book Blog …and I expected a bit more attention to be given to editing in order to put her best foot forward. The book has a good concept: lonely wife tempted by a single dad of a child in her own kid’s class. So, first off, we are disliking the heroine a bit. She becomes a cheater. But beyond that, she separates from her husband and soon after, the new boyfriend is staying overnight in her home (she’s still MARRIED) where her three young daughters are also sleeping. Okay, she’s a bad wife, and a bad mother. I feel a little sorry for her, but then the author makes her heroine give a snide comment about drivers of hybrid vehicles. Yikes! Way to piss off the huge automobile industry! There were quite a few holes and inconsistencies in the story. Example: first the truck had wrapped around a tree, then it was wrapped around a stop sign, and later it was mentioned it was wrapped around a tree. So was it a tree or a stop sign? In Chapter 27, there is mentioned to be candles lit everywhere, which it would need to be dark to see these, right? Right after, it’s mentioned “His sunglasses,” but it doesn’t say WHAT about the sunglasses, whether they’re on the face, peeking out of a pocked, or hanging at the neck. Anyway, if there are sunglasses, there is also sun, right? Well, then the lit candles are mentioned again. A professional editor would have caught and fixed these problems. There were problems on every single page of this book. I’m told there were beta readers that caught a lot of mistakes, but beta readers are not meant to be editors, and the mistakes were still numerous, too numerous to count. I didn’t mark all of the mistakes, but marked enough so I could make my point. If I had marked them all, I would expect to be paid as an editor. I’m not a good editor, but I am a reader with a sharp eye who knows when there’s been no editor at all.The problems included the following:*Misspelled words, misuse of words, wrong homonym, and several other similar problems. -Mouse in his brown hair, instead of mousse -Her breathing became rugged, instead of ragged -The character Kristina’s name was spelled Christina once -Knick in his neck, instead of crick -Machine beeps louder, more consistent, instead of insistent -Giving met support I need, instead of me the -Twunt–what IS that? I couldn’t figure it out. Nickname, maybe? It was only used once and not explained. -Dialed brown eyes, instead of dilated -Extend of his injuries, instead of extent -Couldn’t bare the thought, instead of bear*Could care less–common misuse of the phrase couldn’t care less–I wouldn’t mind this as much if it was only used once in dialogue, as in the character misusing the phrase, but it was also used in the narrative.*Capitalization mistakes*Punctuation mistakes*Paragraphs are chapter-length, and are not broken up between dialogue of different characters. Many times I lost who was saying what.*Similar problem with phone conversations. The way they were shown were the same as how texting was shown. I didn’t know if it was a conversation or texting, or who was saying what.*Run-on sentences. And on. And on. And on. Run-on paragraphs?*Tense changed randomly back and forth between past and present.*Contraction use–He let’s go and sits down, instead of lets. That, by no means, is a comprehensive list, but only a taste. A professional editor would have caught and fixed all of these problems. I’m begging the author to pull the publishing of this book and rework it. If I had paid for this book and didn’t consider the author a friend, I would have returned it before the second chapter.Ava, DO NOT QUIT WRITING. Live the dream. Care enough about the words you’re putting out to the world to baby them and give them all the care necessary for your readers to like what you’re doing. You have successfully published a book. I can only imagine how good it would feel inside for people to really like what you’ve written. I hope you’ll take this review as the loving kick in the pants you need to get an editor. You’ve said English is your second language, and that’s all the more reason to be impressed by you, but also the biggest reason to have an editor with a better grasp of English. ESL is not an excuse to publish a book full of English grammar errors. Never in my life will I even ATTEMPT to publish a book in German. I’m still working on that first book in my first language, English, but I’m also going to use an editor, and get as many eyeballs on the manuscript as possible before it’s released to the world.I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.Sadly, 1.5 stars...

I did not like Addison and never felt like a really knew Bradon, Addison's lover or Michael, her husband. It was like they were cardboard cutouts, placeholders in the story. Therefore it did not surprise me that sex scenes between Bradon and Allison lacked passion and feeling.I dislike adultery but in limited circumstances can accept it or understand it such as abuse or if the spouse is already cheating or if the couple is in the process of already getting divorce. That was not the case here. Michael, while did not pay her the attention she wanted, did not cheat on her. He was not verbally or physically abusive to her or her children. He did not do drugs or anything else harmful that could negatively impact the family. He was obviously a good enough father because his children liked him and wanted to spend time with her. Addison gave a half hearted attempt to get Michael to pay attention to her (which was to trying to seduce him) but did nothing else to try to save her marriage prior to cheating on him. She did not suggest counseling. She did not tell him that she was unhappy with him and that their relationship was in danger of failing. She did not tell him when they made love that recently she felt unfilled and no longer was able to come. When she finally told him that she was cheating on him, he was shocked. He was oblivious that there was a problem with their marriage.SPOILERS belowWhen she admits to Michael that she is cheating, he wants to try to save their marriage. However, she refuses to try, telling him that she is ready in love with Bradon who she had only known for a relatively short period of time. Michael gets upset about it, does something stupid and as a result is injured badly to the point he falls into a coma. While he was in coma and his life was in the balance I thought her response was heartless and cold. She really did not seem to care if he lived or died other than how it impacted her children. When he wakes up and she wants him served with divorce papers confirmed that she was. Who does that to their husband when he wakes up from a coma? They were married 15 years at that point, she claims that he was her best friend and only had been separated a very short period of time and that is her response to finding out that he will live? The writing was rough as well. It needed to be edited further as their were grammar and other types of mistakes that impacted the writing. The only thing that is good about the book is that it is a KU read.

I don't know why more book touch on this topic I mean we all know someone who has experienced it and it may have even been us. While cheating is not talked about in many books Ava Danielle did a wonderful job of telling Addison's story. I was in love with her from chapter 1. Michael isn't a bad guy just not the love of her life anymore and while she starts to think she may want more or different she runs right into what she needs. Brandon is a single father just doing his best and it's exactly what she needs. With a few bumps a long the way they do what right for their kids and make things work. Whit that being said I can't wait for I Belong to to HER.
