About the Author

Gabrielle Doucet is a registered nurse, healing energy practitioner, and author. As a person of spirit, she’s spent the last eleven years helping people improve their health, reduce stress through gaining awareness of the mind-body connection, and achieve a more balanced lifestyle through education and adjustment of landscape and environment.

She developed a program for people to experience personal healing from pain, injury, fear, anxiety, sadness, and chronic and acute illness. This program works by putting people in control and giving them tools to cope, minute by minute, on their own.

Doucet holds a BSN, an MBA, and an MHA. She designs healing and stress-free gardens and landscapes for cancer patients, cancer survivors, and local garden sites, and she also provides free healing clinics for clients in need. She lives in the northeastern United States.

It is full of wisdom and valuable information for anyone who has suffered a loss. I especially found her personal stories so touching and meaningful. Homer After the loss to suicide of the son of one of our dearest friends, our family experienced confusion, anger and a suffocating sadness we had never known. A way forward seemed overwhelming. For me, it would require slowly, yet solidly learning new ways to meet each day and its challenges. By It's About The Book I do enjoy this authors military tough guys but this one wasn’t what I was expecting. This story takes place after Connor becomes a civilian. Connor was pretty damaged. He joined the Marine’s to get away from an abusive stepfather. Although he knew he was gay, he stayed hidden in the closet through two tours. Even after he gets out, he’s so terrified of somebody finding out. It’s not like he’s ashamed of of being gay but that fear of discovery is so instilled in him he just can’t get over it. It’s a major frustration for Connor and later Jeremy. There’s a hint of PTSD from his recon days but nothing is ever really fleshed out. Connor also has a fear of the few people he cares for abandoning him or rejecting him if they find out his big secret.Jeremy is a young professor with a very promising career and a history of having bad taste in men. When he inherits his aunt and uncle’s home and bank account he takes a sabbatical thinking he’ll get the estate in order and sell the house he grew up in after his mother died. His awesome best friend David suggests he hire a company that happens to be run by the super hunky Connor. Sparks fly both ways when Connor and Jeremy first meet but neither man acts on it. Connor is afraid of outing himself and thinks someone like Jeremy is out of his league. Jeremy thinks Connor is probably straight. Jeremy hires Connor’s company to clean his house often while on the market so the guys are forced into contact with each other. Which only confuses them both even more. Connor wants Jeremy like he’s never wanted a man before. To be with him and to kiss him. All he’s ever had were quick hook ups. There was no time for kissing or foreplay. He’s afraid the intimacy being with someone like Jeremy requires of him since he’s never experienced it. Jeremy has never wanted a guy so badly in his life but he keeps getting mixed signals. Eventually they both give into their attraction. If only they could stay inside wrapped up in each other. Too bad the real world waits for them outside the walls of that big house.I enjoyed this book. The couple came from very different places in life. One academia and the other the school of hard knocks. Each man may have hesitated at first because they had a preconceived notion of who the other was based on their limited knowledge of each other. Connor thinks Jeremy must be brilliant and they type who looks down on him for not being refined or all that book smart. Jeremy thinks Connor must be this macho put together guy who is always in control. Neither is true. Jeremy is kind and unpretentious. Connor is somewhat self conscious and afraid to fully be himself. This just made the coupling that much more interesting. Both men had huge issues with communication and it causes some problems that could have been avoided. Though they’re happy together, it’s new and it’s a struggle for Connor to play the part of boyfriend beyond the bedroom. And a struggle for Jeremy who swore he’d never date a guy who wasn’t out. They have to find a balance that works for them both and to do that they have to face some truths that are difficult.I adored David Jeremy’s best friend! He was a ton of fun and had some hilarious lines in this book. I like his and Jeremy’s page time almost as much as Jeremy and Connor’s. This book is firmly contemporary romance. Nothing huge happens. It’s just a story about two seemingly opposite guys who find love with each other once they get their s*** together.

The way a poetry teacher & a former marine find themselves & each other is quiet engaging. I felt that the story was well developed & the characters were well written. You are able to feel a wide range of emotions, from their joys to their insecurities and epic mistakes that have you shaking your kindle begging them not to do it. I also ready enjoyed the secondary characters. Another great read for Silvia Violet that I would happily recommend.

A Beautiful Love Story Amidst the Struggles from the Past...Great Read By pamkaymmbloggers This was an amazing book of Coming out, Hot Sex, Relationships, and Love. Silvia did a great job writing this book with a very strong story line that puts you right in the middle of these two beautiful characters. The character development was complex, but Silvia brought out the emotional and loving parts of these men. Jeremy is a PhD in English Literature and poetry. He finds himself inheriting his aunt and uncle's estate and money which allows him to go on a sabbatical to write his book. The house he inherits is large and he hires a cleaning service (Spit Shine Clean) to come in to do a deep clean and he meets the owner, Connor, who is an ex-Recon-Marine, who has experienced things in his last year that he doesn't want to talk about, even his sexuality. He's always been gay, but except for the guys who he had sex with on the run, he never was out, even to his best friend, Mario, who was a true Homophobe and he idolized. Mario and Connor met in the Marines and Connor was so afraid of losing him if he told him he was gay. After Jeremy, who was gay and out, and Connor meet there is a definite attraction to each other, but both were very cautious to pursue. But Jeremy had to know and when he gives Connor a BJ, Connor freaks. Jeremy had his own past to deal with. His ex had broken his heart when he used him and turned on him, saying he was not gay and found a woman to marry because of his conservative job. Jeremy had a hard time even getting out in the world, being an introvert, but Connor seems to have changed that. Connor was stilll in the closet, but Jeremy was patient with him and their relationship blossomed. This is a beautiful story of love that goes through the struggles of the past, maneuvering through the present. The sex was Hot, their emotions were real, but they still had to face their ghosts to make what they had work. This was a great story of two men evolving into what they really were and what they truly wanted. Highly recommend this one. If you love MM Sex, Romance, Love, and the drama that it sometimes brings, you will love this one. Great Job Silvia... Loved it.

About the Author John has been an ordained priest for nearly 30 years and is a member of the Norbertine Community, residing at St. Norbert Abbey in De Pere, WI. Since 2012, John has been traveling around the country sharing his life story in a presentation entitled “Heaven: Is it for real?” From 2012-2015, over 10,000 people have attended more than 35 presentations; the success with which these presentations were received has resulted in the publishing of To Heaven & Back: The Journey of a Roman Catholic Priest by John Tourangeau and Travis Vanden Heuvel. A thumbnail sketch of John’s life as a Norbertine and priest includes service as a transitional deacon and newly ordained priest at Providence of God Parish (Chicago, IL), followed by a move to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, NM. There he served as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Community (Albuquerque, NM), followed by pastorates at St. Gertrude Parish (Mora, NM), Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish (Clovis, NM), San Francisco de Asís Parish (Ranchos de Taos, NM), and St. Anne Parish (Albuquerque, NM). During those years John also served as Vicar Forane (Dean) and later as a member of the Presbyteral Council. Later, John would return to St. Norbert Abbey and serve as Vocation Coordinator and Pastor of St. Norbert College Parish. John did his undergraduate studies at St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI. He holds a Master of Divinity Degree with Mission Specialization from Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago (1986), a Master of Social Work Degree (MSW) from New Mexico Highlands University, Las Vegas, NM (1997) and is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Wisconsin. But I was blown away by the depth and transparency in the telling of his story. Fr John begins with an encounter with the living Christ in the context of a near-death experience and in the light of that meeting he tells his story simply, effectively and powerfully.Fr John returns to life seeking to discern his purpose and, while the story is full of faith, hope and love, it is not simplistic. He has to negotiate the challenges of ministry and of family and facing his own demons. In doing so John grows in confidence and faith.The story is told smoothly. It is a deceptively easy read that packs much power.The book is an expansion of the very popular presentations John has been giving to packed houses in the last few years. He clearly has a message people want and need to hear.I have recommended this book to the students in my spirituality class. It's true, there was a time where I wasn't reading any of his work because it all seemed the same: over-descriptive writing, gore in place of a a decent storyline, repeated plots and recycled violence. However, in more recent months, I've found myself returning to his works, and it seems that time off has been totally worth it. Curran has stepped up his game, writing quicker, more action-packed novellas in place of the plodding, sometimes boring novels of previous years. Now, in Grimweave, Curran once again returns to Vietnam, only, unlike Headhunter, this time, the creature he creates is far more scary and gruesome:"The Creature was waiting for him. It was sitting there, clinging to the lip of the chasm like some great and impossible insect about the size of a pickup...or maybe two of them. It was some sort of thing Spiers had seen through the scope, only much, much larger. Its body was wide and low, cream-colored, roughly figure eight-shaped, like two plated discs joined together, each of which seemed to be formed of interlocking segments. Not smooth in the least, but chitinous and ridged, convoluted with bony furrows and narrow furrows like ribs, lots of knobs and hollows set between. And spines. A series of them rose from its dorsal plates and each of them looked long enough to skewer a man. Obscenely skeletal, the creature had at least ten legs, maybe as many as a dozen, each big around as a fence post and jointed like those of a crab. A sheer membrane of flesh webbed them together at the upper extremities. At each leg was a bulging pod that oozed nets of spreading, living webs. It looked like a living exoskeleton."If there is any doubt that Curran is one of the most descriptive, highly visual authors in the field, that quote, directly from the book, should shut down any naysayers. That he has such a rich imagination doesn't surprise me, but the fact that he can translate that into words and sentences so rich in detail and vivid illustration is a skill that all authors want, but few can immolate. Even now, as I work on my own short stories and formulate ideas for others, it's Curran's strong talent that has been a huge inspiration for me. In a way, it's unfortunate that Curran still sneaks under the radar in literary circles, however, the fact that he seems to be grossly underrated isn't necessarily a bad thing. I can only imagine how much his work would suffer should he, somehow, sign a massive contract with Scribner or Harper.Grimweave may not be quite as strong as Hive or Hive 2 (both of which really introduced me to the Cthulhu mythos and Lovecraft as a whole), but don't let that keep you from giving it a shot. It's actually a lot of fun and a quick, entertaining read.

Wow, I powered through this book because of all the positive reviews and figured the end would have a big payoff. Boy was that the wrong call! Where to begin?All of the characters in the book are one-dimensional and I found myself rooting against them. The action described in the book is mediocre. The dialogue is horrible and it’s like the author watched Full Metal Jacket and Predator on side by side TVs, then tried to use the foul-mouthed rants to fill pages in between the story of those two movies merging together. And though the derogatory homophobic misogynist language is rampant, the author refrains from using ugly racial slurs which were common at the time (this is a period piece set during the Vietnam conflict). Go all in or stay out!And then comes the adjectives. How many ways can we describe the heat and humidity of the jungle? Read every other page and find out…we get it…it’s hot and humid.I’m pretty sure the author never re-read his work after his first draft because of the inconsistencies on every page. At some points the jungle is so still and silent, only to have the next paragraph talk about the incessant chirping of the bats overhead…huh? The group is well-disciplined veterans only a page later to be sniveling in fear, then back to “the mission comes first” trained killers they are…WTF? And my favorite, a certain character is killed in front of everyone, and two pages later the main character asks about him coming back from looking around with the others (Chapter 23). It’s called proof-reading.And just to get nit-picky, does the author seriously not have any military friends that could at least give the story a once over? The ranks are wrong…Any Lance Corporal that ever called Master Gunnery Sergeant, “Gunny,” would wake up with a broken jaw knowing never to demote him again. “Gunny” is for a Gunnery Sergeant and “Master Guns” can be the affectionate term for a Master Gunnery Sergeant, which is a full two ranks higher than a Gunny. You also wouldn’t ever refer to the man as “NCO Carmody”…it’s Master Gunnery Sergeant Carmody (and he’s an SNCO for Staff Non-Commissioned Officer). Those are just irritating points. One infuriating thing is that no officer would act the way the Major acted, much less consider killing one of his men because it’s slowing the mission down (the worst thing any officer deals with is the loss of anyone in their command).Without giving away any spoilers, the explanation at the end of the book was unoriginal and made little sense with the way events unfolded.Overall, this is a horrible read and you’re better off watching atrocious movies on SyFy rather than devoting any time to this.

If you're a fan of Tim Curran's work like I am, then this book will not disappoint. It's full of the classic chilling drama that we have all come to expect from his work. The characters are all very cool, especially Spiers. Man goes through the stuff, and you just aren't sure how he will come out, or even if he will at all. I found the creatures to be particularly unnerving, mainly due to a certain fear that I have...lol. This book offered me everything I fully expected it to. I recommend this, not only to fan's of Tim Curran, but to fans of sci-fi/horror in the first place. You will not be sorry that you picked this up.

This inspiring book is filled with personal wisdom and prompts that invite: "What's the kindest thing you heard, overheard, saw or observed today?" My perspective shifts to the raked grass outside my window, my neighbor taking care with her garbage cans: my life is a letter of moments. Throughout the book, Benke has sprinkled "notes" that are "passed to us" from writers like Wendy Mass and Gary Snyder. Mass frames special letters because they remind her that they are "living, breathing things." This book brings me back to my father's handwritten notes and stick figures-- it sends me back to myself and my authentic, individual scrawl. Here, right now, is precious.

About the Author Being a reluctant member of civilised society and reliant on earning an income to feed, clothe and shelter myself, I’ve been forced to try my hand at a few career paths. I’ve cleaned bricks as well as dishes, both poorly. I completed a physiotherapy degree at Sydney Uni, but was unable to work in that capacity for too long. Noone ever told me it involved a hefty dose of touching up old ladies. Sure, they loved it, but I didn’t want to bathe my aching thumbs in ice every night purely for geriatric satisfaction. Around the age of 25 I sniffed out the eternal truth, there’s big money in the money game. There are no rules, brains or ethics, but there’s money…truckloads upon truckloads of easy money. I enrolled in a post grad finance course and lucked into commodities trading, pretending to understand not only what derivatives are, but also how to make money trading the things. I graduated from derivatives to physical oil; slippery, slimy, glorious oil. Slippery is my attempt to open up the world of oil trading and Southeast Asia. Both are hedonistic minefields where a moral compass is your biggest liability and the depravity of the human spirit is rubbed in your face all day, every day.

I found myself at turns disgusted, amused and even faintly aroused by the actions of Flynn. However, you can't help but be blown along with the whirlwind adventures of the protagonist as he leaves behind his physiotherapy career for the heady heights of commodity trading in Asia, all thanks to an ever-so-slightly tenuous CV, a fortuitous phone call and the wherewithal to outwit the other greasy ladder-climbers encountered during the hiring process.Throughout the hilarious adventures I flip-flopped from wanting to join in the decadent revelry to being happy I remain largely ignorant of many of the people and processes that involve sending money, as well as large quantities of oil and copper concentrates of questionable origin, around the world.The writing is crisp and the book flies along at a fair pace. If I had one negative thing to say is that the ending felt perhaps a little rushed. But that could just be a side-effect of my disappoint at finishing this otherwise excellent book. That point alone however doesn't stop me giving this book a well-deserved 5 stars. I look forward to more offerings from the author in the future.

His journey through the seamy underworld of global commodities trading is a ribald 'hold onto your seats' rollicking yarn. Enjoy the journey through the seedy, booze filled trading culture in Singapore and Shanghai as Slippery is blooded from naïve apprentice to global trader.This is laugh out loud funny with a tight, well honed writing style that is very hard to put down.

By Jill Meyer Priscilla Royal's new mystery, "Satan's Lullaby: A Medieval Mystery" is the 11th book in her Medieval Mystery series. I've read all the series books over the years and this latest is an excellent return to Prioress Eleanor, Brother Thomas, and the others - both religious and secular - at Tyndal Priory in Norfolk. Eleanor is the leader of the Priory, which supports both male and female religious. It is one of the few houses where a woman is the leader of the order."Satan's Lullaby" does not really have much of a plot. The order is being "visited" by Father Etienne Davoir, who is the brother of Abbess Isabeau, of the Fondevraud Abbey in France, which is the "mother" house of Tyndal Priory. He's come with some aides to check out the finances and structural strength of the Priory, along with the rumor of impropriety between two members of the clergy, One of his clerks - with whom Father Etienne has a close relationship - is found dead during the visit. Etienne suspects the young man has been poisoned and points out Sister Anne, the chapter's sub-infirmarian who is a whiz with natural medicines, as the probable killer. Anne is tossed into confinement, not allowed to practice her healing ways. There are also some odd characters skulking around the grounds and, as usual, some people are not who they seem to be.Father Etienne is a blustering bully, Prioress Eleanor is diplomatic, Crowner Ralf is investigative, Gytha is pregnant, and Brother Thomas is still a hunk. Other reoccurring characters are included and as with any good series, the reader is brought up-to-date with the lives of these characters. The story is brought to an end in somewhat desultory fashion - remember, you're probably not reading it for the plot. But Priscilla Royal is a whiz at creating both interesting characters and interesting settings. Her writing is often moody when describing the physical world of Norfolk, where the winters are bleak and the summers not much better.A well-written historical novel can teach as well as entertain. Novels, while fiction, can stir up in a reader an interest in the subject or era and prompt further reading. Royal has an afterword where she writes about some of the interests she had before writing "Satan's Lullaby" and how she included them in the story. If you're a fan of the series, or just have an interest in 13th century England, you'll enjoy this 11th book.

The first inspection in almost a decade includes besides the normal review, a look into rumors of misconduct amongst the religious members of the Order.When one of the haughty friar’s clerks Jean becomes ill, Sub-infirmarian Sister Anne realizes he suffers from too much wine. Not long afterward, Jean dies. Father Davoir blames his death on Brother Imbert, but Prioress Eleanor and Sister Anne insist there is no such person. Sister Anne further states she gave instructions and a potion to the man Father Davoir sent to her. Father Davoir calls her a liar, accuses her of murder and furthermore wonders aloud if Prioress Eleanor ordered the kill to hide her sin of carnality. Though he prefers to be with his pregnant mate, the local king’s justice agent Crowner Ralf knows this case is hard because the only suspects are people he cares about: Sister Anne, Prioress Eleanor and his best friend Brother Thomas.The latest Prioress Eleanor and Brother Thomas Medieval Mystery (see A Killing Season and Covenant with Hell) is an engaging whodunit with an insightful glimpse at thirteenth century England. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A fun medieval mystery By The Curious Dame I have never read a medieval mystery by Priscilla Royal before. This particular novel is the 11th in a series about Priorewss Eleanor and Brother Thomas and others in the cast. Although this is a series, I do not think you need to read them in any particular order. The author did a pretty good job of sprinkling in small tidbits of past history should it be necessary to the plot.The story's setting is Tyndal Priory in Norfolk during the 13th century. The priory is a joint male/female religious house, with Eleanor at its helm.The basic plot is about Father Etienne Davoir, who is the brother of an Abbess in France who is in charge of the priory. He is there to oversee the priory to ensure the finances and its running is in accordance with the abbess's dictates. When he uncovers a rumor about some improprieties between two members, and he discovers a clerk murdered, the story really takes off.The story has several shady, but fascinating characters, lots of twists, and an interesting plot. The author is knowledgeable and comfortable in this particular medieval period, so the book is informative as well as entertaining. This book was an excellent read and I will definitely follow up by reading some of the earlier books in the series.

I thought there would be at least a few good glitches and cheats but what I found was just a badly explained way how to get other mods and skins. The 11.0 update has skins. Please do not get this unless you have kindle unlimited.

In this story, Susan Hart Snyder takes her readers to an almost mystical place in Utah, where both dark shadows and brightly illuminated natural beauty co-exist. This same dichotomy is seen in the characters. The supporting cast is of every stripe, and the heroine is complex and well developed - capable of courageously (even impulsively) confronting danger and injustice in one moment, and blushing in response to attention in the next. Sydney Robert's accidental adventure in Harmony, Utah on her way to New York City is a story worth reading. I'm intrigued to see what happens to her next!

AN ENTERTAINING READ By Kevin Chilvers (Author) Susan Hart Snyder’s romance “Finding Harmony” tells the story of Sydney Roberts who sets off to cross America in an RV to find a new life. When she breaks down in the middle of the Nevada desert and clashes with the leader of a commune of polygamists. Trapped in Harmony, a small town in Utah, Sydney is determined and outspoken in her struggle against the cruel abuse of young girls. She challenges their acceptance of polygamy, tackles the town’s teen thugs, and pushes the deputy sheriff for justice. Drawn deeper into the lives of wonderfully rich characters she falls for a handsome cowboy and is forced to wonder if New York is really where her destiny lies.Susan Hart Snyder has cleverly created a novel that is both a romance and an amateur sleuth detective story all in one. I liked “Finding Harmony” from the first page. Susan tells the story in a fresh, entertaining way that is easy to read. Sydney’s gutsy character drew me into her world as she struggles to escape from Harmony and stirs things up as she pokes her nose into the polygamy issue. I was soon routing for her as she becomes more involved and meets the vividly painted characters Susan has created. The drama builds naturally and the romance develops with emotion but without graphic detail. A mix that works well in my view. Finding Harmony is funny in places, moving in others and is a thoroughly entertaining read.
