For such a concise version of the original book, the author vividly described the trend in modern-day dating and relationships. He particularly illustrated the present set-up of technology and how it affects relationship and marriage. This is a great help for men and women who would like to create a meaningful romantic relationship in this age of high technology. From the olden to the recent precepts of dating, relationship, and marriage, Modern Romance clearly illustrates it all. Comparisons between old and new practices are presented in such a way that the reader cannot help but be engrossed in reading, just like what I felt. I am totally into the book, such that I categorize myself as the “old” version of this romance thing.For the younger generation who establish relationships by utilizing the world’s present technology, referring to the book for snippets of advice is very helpful. Modern methods of communication provide people with options on how to meet other people, and eventually choose a partner. The author’s profound comparisons on the cultural diversity of Japan and Argentina give me, as the reader, the idea that love and romance vary from one nation to the other, and from one person to another.Over-all, this book provides a powerful, informative, and witty insight on dating, romance, relationship and marriage in this very modern age. It is about finding a soul mate, who appears to be elusive nowadays. It never fails to amaze me how couples of this generation try and manage to maintain a romantic relationship using the latest technology this world has to offer. Even more amazing is the fact that some people look for a deeper meaning of relationship without sweating it out first. For me, to be able to find ‘The One”, you have to go one step ahead, not just relying on modern methods of communication such as internet and smartphones, but have the time for face-to-face encounters and meetings. As the book says, Getting to know these people face-to-face is much more important than getting to know them on a screen.For those of you who believe that finding the love your life is just a call or a text message away, read this book and immerse yourself in spontaneous helpful advice the author has to offer.
