Good sized board book with large, clear pictures that don't have a lot of distractions in the background. Since it rhymes, the author had to use some animals that you might not normally see in a typical "animal book" which is nice. The pictures read "Hoo" (owl), "Moo" (cow), "Growl" (polar bear), "Howl" (wolf), "Chirp" (bird), "Slurp" (anteater), "Meow" (cat), "Bowwow" (dog), "Quack" (duck), "Yak" (yak), "Caw" (crow), "Hee-haw" (donkey), "Coo" (pigeon), "Hoo" (owl), then Hi and Good-bye.The animals each have a bit of their environment with their scenes, so you can talk about where they live or in the anteater's case, what he's doing :)

At 1 years, he doesn't have the attention span for me to read lots of words on each page, but he does love our reading time together. This is fun for him as we turn the pages quickly. When he wants to spend a little more time, we talk about the animals, the colors, the sounds, and make up stories at the end about the little boy and his mom (my little guy and me). Fun book for very small kids even though, as an adult, it makes you feel like you should be able to come up with your own kids' book if they're this easily written and enjoyed.
