By Sue Ann B WOW -- This collection contains six faery novellas by six amazing authors.All six novellas are well written, smooth flowing, and very easy to read. I found it interesting how each author put their own spin the same type of fae creature described in more than one book -- yet they were so different!!!I loved them all, but I was asked to read the book by Julia Crane. Since they are all short novellas, this was easy to do in a small amount of time. I found Arrangement downright fascinating!!! (In the book, it is titled Arrange.) I loved Tulupea and Michael -- two awesomely described and very sweet characters. I loved how the author got you slowly into the story and then when Tulupea arrived on earth, how she found out her true mission while there and the things that she had to do to stay safe. I don't write spoilers - and that is hard to do when you have to write a review of such a short type book. Arranged (or Arrangement) was a fantastic story and I hope that Julia doesn't disappoint and continues the story in another book.I will warn you that the majority of these novellas are fast moving, easy reads and you will find it hard to put them down until you finish them!!!I received a complimentary copy of Arrangement (Arranged) in exchange for my honest review. All opinions shared are 100% my own. However, to give a true honest review of the entire collection, I did purchase the book and read the rest of the selections included in the book.

I love the different worlds that these authors develop and take you to. You’ll be living in Technicolor while enjoying these fun filled and imaginative stories. The characters come to life so that you can really get to know them. And the entire collection is so well written. Each author’s individual style really shines through. I enjoyed all of the stories in this anthology. But I’ve got to say, the Feyland novella has left me stoked for the upcoming summer release in the series! Not only did I enjoy these stories and characters individually, but combined they made a captivating anthology that was the perfect escape from reality.If you like one or two of the authors in this anthology, it’s a great way to get your hands on their works while experiencing some fantastic writing by other authors. And if you’re a YA fantasy lover who’s never read any of these authors yet, it’s the perfect way to delve into these worlds.Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Each book is related to a series so it gives you part of the story, leaving you wanting more. All six novellas are well written, smooth flowing, and very easy to read. I found it interesting to see the same type of fae creature described in more than one book, but depicted very differently. Some of the authors I was already fans of, Jenna Johnson and Julia Crane. My favorite novella was Faeleahn by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson, but that is a bit biased as I have read every book in her series and had a better understanding of it than the others. Great addition to the Brazen boys series By kiwi_chick_2882 As with the rest of the Brazen Boys novellas if you aren't in to reading m/m romances you should instead read Beautiful Dead by Daryl Banner.Daryl always manages to make me laugh and with a line like this "Even his hair's cocky, swept up into a proud little tuft in the front" within the book its no surprising that he makes me laugh out loud.It centers around Thomas Kozlowski, an acting professor and his 100 level course. Hes bitter, cynical and refuses to let anyone get an easy A. Naturally the cocky easy going, good looking boy who always sits in the back row spends, as much time getting on his nerves as much as Thomas fantasizes about him. Thomas is a control freak and is given many chances to just let go, will he ever take advantage of these opportunities? Will he allow himself to get owned?I thoroughly enjoy his writing style, its easy going and a great way to spend my time. These books are as always too short for my liking but I'll take what I can get.I like the way the story concluded, I wont spoiler, but I will say it wasn't how I thought things would play out but I'm kinda glad they did. Now of course I just want to know what happen next in the story. Most likely I'll just have to make do with the next Brazen Boy story when I get my hands on it.

By Caro Richard Forbidden fruit - the student and the professor!!Thom is hoping that hot young Justin Brady is going to be his star student (in more ways than 1) but sadly his hopes are not met.Thom is a strict and uncaring teacher but its not until Justin asks for private lessons that you see Thom let go a bit. During the private lessons, the roles are reversed....Justin becomes the master!!! I loved that Justin taught Thom a very good life lesson enabling him to grow in his personal life.I laughed at the (self molesting!!) bit where Thom was thinking on Justin saying 'I own you'...a hot moment!!Dog Tags is the next Brazen Boys to be released, and I cannot wait!

It isn't taboo by my definition, but it deals with the idea of being dominated and even shamed somewhat for sexual pleasure. Also it has the student/teacher element.Thom is an angry, bitter, hateful, controlling college professor. He finds fault in everything and can't seem to feel happiness or fulfillment in anything. All it takes is one sexy, confident student taking charge of him to change his entire outlook.Although, the book is about the act of following through with a sexual fantasy, I believe the point is to not dwell on the negative, but rather to take a chance when opportunities arise in life.

By Oren Farber There are no other books comparable to it, but the closest would perhaps be Ben-Hur.“The chosen” is a biblical epos that enlivens the ancient scenery and events with minute details and amazing artistic skill.On another level, it portrays a great human drama held in the magnificent court of king Nebuchadnezzar.Yet, on a deeper level, it is about the spiritual journey of Daniel from youth to maturity.It is about living a life of complete, pure Faith in a heathen world.I particularly loved the ways in which Kalo “fills the gaps” of the biblical tale in a way that seems to bring out the spiritual essence of Daniel.Page after page, I was elevated to see events from the vintage point of the growing prophet, always startled and inspired to discover his utterly unexpected responses and actions.Another gem is the love story of Daniel and Najeen, weaved beautifully into the story. Can love between man and women be so noble, so uplifting and down to the depth of souls? You will have to go through it to realize the magnitude of this possibility.Highly recommended.

How do you walk out of a furnace, unharmed? How in God's name, our elder brother Daniel, did you manage to stay calm, peaceful and full of joy, in the midst of severe trials, a menacing uncertain future? Well, he says, a secret it is not.Reading this extraordinary book, the reader feels he is right there, with prophet Daniel and his close and saintly companions. Yet it doesn't feel like ancient history. As the preface says: "touches on the present" "foretells the future".And indeed, to a reader from a land (Israel) continuously threatened by fanatic enemies and a planet resembling a madhouse, this book is uplifting and encouraging. It shows the spirit of prophet Daniel, his heart, which is peaceful, loving and full of joy, in the midst of chaos.Did you know the author was nominated for the Nobel literature prize? Didn't surprise me.The complete book is quite long, yet feels too short. It revolves around a prophet, yet - no theology, no religion, no philosophy. How refreshing!Highly recommended.

Based on the prophet Daniel, the author's ability to bring the Biblical account to life again in this refreshing way is truly outstanding.The story had every element a good story should have; An exciting plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well written and well rounded character development. There's an abundance of well illustrated scenes that really make you feel you are right there in the story. And that's something I really look for in a good book.A highly recommended read.

By Brian the Writer Brent Hartinger enters the world of NA Literature exactly the same way he entered the world of YA Literature, with deft aptitude for knowing the pulse of his readers. In The Thing I Didn’t Know I Didn’t Know, Hartinger has captured the fears, concerns and insecurities of the lost 20something in the 21st Century. Hartinger’s readers have grown up since the debut of his highly acclaimed first novel, The Geography Club, and his most famous character Russel Middlebrook has grown up, too. Readers will feel a sense of familiarity when reading The Thing I Didn’t Know I Didn’t Know and will be pleased to be able to reconnect with their favorite characters (Russel, Min, Gunnar, Kevin), but now on the same level and maturity as them.Hartinger was smart to tackle the issues plaguing the young, gay, 20something. NA is a new but much needed genre in literature. It bridges the gap between the YA years and the over 25 adult years, and I applaud Hartinger for giving us a novel that explores this crucial and often unwritten about time in anyone’s life. The novel feels so real and so now. Readers will be able to identify with Russel’s conflicts: the complexities of hooking-up, the aimlessness of not knowing your true passion and purpose in life, and the desire for an ex who reminds you of a time when you were truly happy.I found myself once again connecting with Russel Middelbrook and his friends and was glad to have the opportunity to do so. Few authors have been able to take their young adult characters and age them into adulthood as successfully as Brent Hartinger has done. What is so great is that once again, when we need Hartinger and his characters the most, they are here to give us the insight and the support we need.

(I didn't want it to end so I tried to make the book last as long as possible) I just knew I had to write a review to say how am By Andrew Carrillo After finally finishing the latest installment of the Russel Middlebrook series, (I didn't want it to end so I tried to make the book last as long as possible) I just knew I had to write a review to say how amazing it is. I've been a fan of the series since Geography Club first came out, pun intended, and seeing Russel's evolution in the latest entry is a breath of fresh air.I won't go into the details of the plot because you just have to read the synopsis for that, but Russel has come a long way since we first saw the closeted teen back in the day. What I loved most about this book is the fact that readers old and new can relate to Russel on some level. Brent does an excellent job portraying gay and single men in their twenties and the struggle we all face when trying to find out who we really are. Russel struggles with finding his place on the spectrum (single and ready to mingle...unrequited love...post-grad job and the struggle of finally getting your "dream" job) and I couldn't help but relate to that on every level.What I enjoy about this series is that I keep wanting to know more and more about the characters. I love seeing how far they've come because that's what makes me love book series...wanting to be part of each character's journey. Min...Gunnar...Russel...Kevin...all of them.How does this compare to the others in the series? It's just as good if not better. The other four in the series all tie together as does the latest installment, but you don't necessarily have to read them in order to understand The Thing I Didn't Know I Didn't Know. Brent does a good job of getting the readers to understand the backstory without repeating every single detail that took place in the original books. I look forward to reading the next chapter in Russel's adventure.

By Tim O'Leary There's a reason why Russel Middlebrook is such an enduring character that we fans keep coming back to again and again. Well, there are several reasons, really, but primarily it's because we all can see a little bit of ourselves in Russel. Often, we don't like what we see, and neither does he. But he has a lot more courage to admit it than most of us.I loved Russel when he was a teenager, and after The Elephant of Surprise I was ready to see the next phase of his life. At first, I was a little disappointed when I heard Hartinger was going to completely bypass the college years. No awkward back-rubs in the dorms? No fumbling in the bushes? No puking out of the windows of cars?But it turns out, Russel's life post-college is a lot more interesting, so skipping college was a stroke of genius. Why? College is a largely structured environment, with the schedule of classes and inexorable flow of semesters. But once you're out of college and have to find your own way? That's a lot less secure, and therefore creates a lot more dramatic tension.Though Russel is 23, he's still the same Russel we know, just with a lot more agency and a lot less sense of direction. He's more sexually active, too, as he's graduated from Internet chat rooms (aw, remember those?) to a Grindr-like hookup app. But the sex he's having isn't fulfilling, and every time he does it he freaks out about STD's. In other words, he's having realistic sex.But Russel was always a romantic at heart, so we get some great drama when who should show up back in his life but Kevin, the utterly imperfect yet totally desirable high school sweetheart ... who immediately tells him he's now living with his boyfriend.Gutted, you guys. That's how I felt. Because we've all kind of been there, right?Fortunately, Min and Gunnar are still very much in his life. In fact, they all live together, but I won't spoil how or where, because it's a cool plot twist. Min and Gunnar, as usual, both have their own dramas, largely "off screen," that are interesting enough to merit a book of their own (which Min actually succeeded at obtaining two books ago).But I think my favorite character in the book was a new one. Often the "new character" is Russel's love interest, but this time around it was the intriguing old woman who Russel saves from drowning and who ends up his mentor. I only wish I had a wise sage woman in my life when I was 23. It would have saved me quite a few years of lack of direction.I could go on and on about how much I love the Russel Middlebrook series, but I'll end it with this: Hartinger boldly ventures into a new sub-category - New Adult - with this book, leaving the world of YA behind. Which is, of course, the perfect transition, because we as his audience are also getting older as the books come out. I'm so happy we get to continue with Russel on his journey, and with the incredibly tantalizing ending, I can't wait to see what happens next.

FOSGATE'S GAME was a pleasure to read. Chadwick and Fosgate are perfectly matched to play this macabre game of supernatural chess. Fosgate is cold and calculating, and makes no excuses for his brutality when it comes to building his business empire. Chadwick is reluctantly drawn into Fosgate's vicious plans and is unable to extricate himself until he finds a very creative (and satisfying) way to draw the game to a close.Great characters, great story, great writing. Highly recommended.

Two chess players at odds with each other. All's fair in chess and war. A rigged game? Or a descent into madness? Much like Velvet Rain, Mr. Cassidy's first novel, Fosgate's Game offers a thrilling narrative, a superb imagery of words to canvas. Psychologically complex, it is a glimpse into the occult, imaginatively written, and totally entertaining.

"Given the choice, he shouldn't have played Fosgate's Game.Given the choice . . . he should have taken death."These opening lines had me. Everything that followed did not disappoint. Thanks to the talented David C. Cassidy's visual writing style and attention to detail, I felt like I was hunkered down in front of the television, absenting depositing popcorn into my mouth while spellbound by a classic black-and-white Alfred Hitchhock film. Good stuff.In my review for Velvet Rain, I referred to Cassidy as a master puppeteer, due to his ability to elicit strong emotion from his readers. Fosgate's Game is further testament of his skill to capture his audience and move them through scenes like chess pieces. Cassidy also proves how versatile his writing voice is. Where Velvet Rain's characters are primarily small town folk in Iowa with limited education, Fosgate and Chadwich represent England's upper-crust. Cassidy pulls off this portrayal swimmingly. Fosgate is a very dignified killer.I highly recommend this superb novella to anyone who enjoys suspense, Alfred Hitchcock films, The Twilight Zone, and exceptional writing.

Chapter 6 The Laws of Attraction Woman as Laborer and Man as Warrior USING DHARMA TYPE AS A DATING STRATEGY FOR MEN How does a man generate attraction? The answer is, find your quality. Find your uniqueness and superiority--areas where you excel and are unlike anyone else. Understand your dharma type and play up its qualities. Are you a Warrior? Show a potential partner what a powerful mission you have protecting those who can’t protect themselves. If you don’t have such a mission, find one. It can be teaching guitar to innercity orphans or donating goats to village families. Women are interested in a man who wants to make the world a better place. Also show her your courage, decisiveness, and adventurous spirit by going to places that highlight these traits. From rock climbing to strip poker, show her your mastery in everything you do. Are you an Educator? Show her your class, culture, and intelligence--not in a self-absorbed way that glorifies you but by truly adding to her wisdom. Show her your ideas, and how they set you apart. Let her see others admire you for them--social proof is a powerful aphrodisiac. Having a mission and wanting to make the world a better place is a basic Warrior trait that all men can cultivate as they all carry the seed of the Warrior type. Develop Warrior traits that will help you stand up for and respect yourself--don’t let your compassion and surrender make you spineless; instead, let them be a sign of your inner strength. Go Mongolian dining then cave spelunking. You love your freedom--demonstrate it by never being outwardly predictable. Contrast that with inner emotional consistency and you become a riddle she’s dying to solve. Are you a Merchant? Then fun and enthusiasm are your charm. Use your wit and connections to show her the best time of her life. Show her that you can have fun regardless of where you are. Be up to date on fashion, women’s clothes, and other details of pop culture to create fun conversation. Use money wisely--show her you know its value and what to do with it. QUALITY VERSUS QUANTITY Biologically, women’s bodies are wired to look for quality and men’s for quantity. A woman’s body judges quality by subconsciously continually testing men and evaluating their responses. If a man meets the quality standards, this generates desire to be with him. When a man fails to meet these standards, a woman’s body disengages from him, and her feelings cool. Basically a woman looks for two things in a man: genetic superiority and stability. Genetic Superiority Short-term compatibility created by personal chemistry, a man’s physical proportions, smell, taste, personality, wealth, humor, popularity, social standing, and other attractive features is based on genetic superiority. It qualifies a man as a potential lover and candidate to father a child. Women’s bodies react to genetic superiority by creating powerful sexual attraction. The tests for this may be different from those that determine good long-term partners or providers. Here, women are not necessarily looking for relationship material, but the best choice physically to pass on genetic material. For men to ace these tests they must create an overwhelming display of quality, whatever that may be. Men who cannot do this but who show stability and other positive qualities, like nurturing and friendship, fall into the next category. Stability The other way women judge potential partners is by their ability to stay, provide, and care for their offspring. These tests begin with the first meeting and continue for the duration of a relationship. They are unconscious trials set up by a woman’s biology to ensure that a man is suitable to not just father but to rear children. When a man displays provider qualities, like financial stability, an ability to compromise, and putting the relationship before his own needs, women’s bodies perceive this as long-term courting behavior and tend to withhold sex and continue testing until either marriage or a long-term relationship is established. A lover is a short-term candidate to whom a woman responds sexually. A provider is a long-term candidate to whom a woman usually responds by withholding sex. Knowing in which bracket he wants to be is crucial for a man. Men continue to grow by facing and learning from the real-world testing by women in their lives. These tests help men to become their most authentic selves by weeding out their inauthentic behavior. Women have evolved sensitive meters that can determine if men are living their highest life. By continuing to test them throughout a relationship, women help men evolve. There is no greater cause for a Warrior than a just battle. At some level all men are Warriors, and the toughest battles they face are usually at home, in the intimate arena of interpersonal relationships. A man’s potential for greatest growth comes from learning to live with a partner. There are no obstacles that the world can throw at him that are more creative, challenging, and frustrating than those proposed by women.

I really enjoyed learning from Simon such our body's circadian rhythms and its ties astrologically. I have enjoyed all his DVDs and books. For example, I learned I am an Outsider. I find Simon to be a great teacher of Astrology not only about assessing charts but its impact on our daily lives. With that said, I just received my book on Sex, Love, and Dharma, and I am so excited to learn about my relationship with my partner.

I love the tactile aspect of following the trail with your finger. Sometimes I help my two-year-old do it and sometimes she helps me do it. The font is a bit small which makes it a tad harder to read, but the pictures and interactive pages make up for it.

A pleasant bedtime read for little ones By swilliams My 3-year-old, whose new baby sister is named Maddie, listened attentively most of the way through, and said she likes the book. I thought the first part worked very well. But when the plot turned to fantasy, I think the structures didn't hold together quite as well. Nonetheless, it is a pleasant way to spend a little on-the-way-to-bed time with a small child.

An excellent resource for new and mature Christians in understanding the Old Testament books By Valerie Caraotta I found this e-book to be quite informative in bringing clarity to the Old Testament books. It is written in a way that locks events into a more understood dimension, while not losing the reader to excessive detail. To help with understanding each book there are charts, pictures, and outlines that can be used along side ones Bible. Author, Bible teacher, and Dean Paul D. Weaver has used his scholarly ability in producing this excellent resource.I enjoyed writing in my Bible word meanings, dates, and other things that this book brought to my attention. Though I have been a Christian for over 30 years there was still much I did not know in the Old Testament. It is written scholarly in that, while key information was presented, it was done in a fashion that even new Christians could grasp.This is not a work to rush through but to allow oneself to immerse in the quality of information presented, possibly with one's Bible alongside. Each book has predictable categories covered including:– Title– Author– Documentary hypothesis– Recipients– Date and place– Purpose– Message– TheologyThis will be a resource one can refer to over and over. It includes archaeological discoveries throughout with an easy to find table with links in the front of the book. For the quality of content and easy readability I give this work a five star rating.

Denton Most commentaries are either too academic for the average home bible student / Sunday School teacher to understand or too simplistic for the pastor or academic scholar to find useful. Paul Weaver has struck the balance between those two styles and produced an Old Testament survey textbook that is beneficial for those at both ends of the spectrum. He's dug deep as an academician to find the relevant notes that will help a Sunday School teacher grasp the purpose, author, audience, and arrangement of each book in the Old Testament. The academic notes he does provide are useful for understanding how and why each book is relevant for Christians today. Yet, it's also filled with enough academic explanations, treatments of disagreements and textual issues that a bible college student will also find find adequate material to use as reference for a class paper.The only weakness I find with this version (I'm using the Kindle version on an iPad) is some of the graphs and charts included in the text become distorted when enlarged to actually read. A chart with the family of Abraham in the Genesis chapter covers over a little of the text in the Kindle version and is unreadable if enlarged to actually read it. Most of the other charts I tried to enlarge were readable, if a little fuzzy.That minor issue, that could be fixed in an update, isn't enough to keep me from giving this book five stars. I'd suggest every bible study student, whether serious or just exploring, add this to their shelf of bible study tools. I'm recommending this to my volunteer Sunday school teachers and pastor friends as a book I believe will be valuable for all who seek to get a solid exegetical background on Old Testament books whether they're studying for their own personal growth or to present a lesson or sermon to others.

Well-documented and easy to read, the introduction provides ample footnotes, not only offering documentation for citations but also additional, relevant material to supplement the material being discussed. Weaver also provides helpful charts, photographs, and valuable archaeological notes which enhance one’s visual association with historical facts. This book will be a quality addition to the library of any one desiring a better knowledge of the Bible
