By Karen's Book Haven I must say – I honestly thought this was going to be a Eat, Pray, Love kinda book. You know – woman is down on her luck in pretty much all areas of her life and the week just does not get any better. There’s that saying that we shouldn’t laugh at people’s misfortunes … well … the suggestion is that we shouldn’t … doesn’t mean we can’t. I do have guilt for laughing at this character’s crappy crappy day but I defy anyone to not let out a snicker.Another adage is Murphy’s Law - if anything can go wrong, it will and it does but because Veronica is having a hard time, she’s instantly likeable. All these things are out of her control so she makes do with what she can.There was something about Nash that I didn’t like from the offset. He’s a determined man but there was something that didn’t add up. I couldn’t put my finger on it till further on in the story but he’s good for her. Having been through a dry spell in the romance department, she is making up for lost time as men are practically throwing themselves at her.There are hilarious scenes that will have you wheezing. The g-string wearing patron has me practically doubled over.It’s wonderfully written with clear scene setting – it’s like I could see it happening in a movie. Colton is a breath of fresh air with the writing. I could tell you more about the funny parts but then that would be ruining it for you.I was given an advance reader copy for my honest opinion.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Another Good One By Reader Way To Go is a good summer read, a well done chick lit addition to any library. Veronica Lane has had a terrible day. In fact it can probably be called the “Mother of All Days”. Veronica Lane, however, manages to make “lemonade out of lemons”, so to speak. She is an instantly liked character, more than ready to make things happen for herself in a most amusing way. She moves on to a life as a travel guide, and over the next few weeks meanders through several interesting places, meeting mystery men everywhere. The story is an easy read, one that makes a perfect beach read or a read for the time when you just want something light with which to unwind, while learning a bit about the tour guide travel business and one way to cope with what life throws at you. I enjoyed the book from start to finish, and I am sure most readers will also. This is the start of a series about Veronica that will make readers love her and her stories, while they laugh to the point of crying. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great read and/or is looking for something to lighten his/her life. I received this from Library Thing to read and review.

Way To Go proved to be just that and more. Mandy Colton’s Veronica Lane is hilarious – a 21st century Molly Brown. Beginning on a day-from-hell with lost luggage and lost job, Veronica finds herself stuck in Miami the next morning with a hangover and a mysterious handsome, sleeping hunk. Over the next few weeks as a travel guide, she makes her way through adventures in exotic places and more sexy encounters with mystery men. For readers who’d enjoy the chance to lighten up, laugh, and learn some bold and bawdy coping skills, this well-written first novel is a great choice. Way To Go, Mandy Colton!
