About the Author Lee Greenwood knows first-hand what it’s like to have loved ones fighting for the freedom of all Americans, as his father served in the Navy and the Merchant Marine in World War II. By Alex Gregory I'm quite confident most parents and grandparents in the U.S. wonder how they can even begin to instill the concepts of patriotism and national pride in their kids and grandkids. In light of the many negative opinions about the U.S.A. in the media, it's no wonder that many young (and old) citizens do not realize how proud they can and should be of this great country. Thank you Lee Greenwood and Amanda Sekulow for rising to the occasion and for making this wonderful and beautifully illustrated children's book available to us ... and at such an affordable price. As I read the book, one thing that immediately struck me was how well it illustrates (as do the lyrics), the diversity of our country (farms, lakes, mountains, the two seacoasts) as well as the diversity of our citizens. I will ensure that my grandkids and the kids and grandkids of all my relatives (and I have a lot) receive one of these books. I even have a stash of them on my desk at work to stimulate discussions with guests to my office. I can't wait to hear our little ones' questions and comments about the book and about our country.

Great buta little disappointed By AZ Cowpoke Love the song but thought the book was more than just the lyrics of the song after seeing an interview with Lee Greenwood. The message is true blue and should be shared with your young ones. I just thought the book was more and it isn't.

Westby I admire Greenwood's commitment to our country and consistent support of our veterans. We need to remember. We must remember. The book is an important illustration and tells a story of what makes our country so great.
