Jane, a disillusioned art teacher who has been dumped by her obnoxious partner now lives at a private girls' boarding school near Queenstown, New Zealand. Her life is made brighter by the reappearance of an old art school friend who she had modelled for in their final painting examination. Through Justin she is introduced to the world of the unconventional and wealthy Mark. Jane's life really changes though when her eccentric aunt Claudia decides she wants to die in her home on a remote southern island rather than end her days in a rest home on the mainland. Jane agrees to accompany her aunt and their arrival proves to be dangerously inconvenient to people who have their own reason for wanting Claudia's house empty. Signed on the bottom is a humorous romantic mystery with dark undertones. Jane finds herself juggling three hot men and environmental issues while dealing with her own doubts and fears. This is a stand alone novel.

Set in the stunning South Island scenery of New Zealand, ‘Signed on the Bottom’ combines suspense and romance with humor and unexpected twists in the plot. The heroine, Jane Cooper is funny and likeable. Supporting characters really come to life: Claudia, the eccentric aunt who lived life on her own terms, Val and Val’s Mum, and, straight from my fantasies, Maddy the ‘casserole fairy’ who always shows up bearing food so you don’t have to cook dinner.Jane is a modern heroine who reacts to the multiple gorgeous men who cross her path in a modern way. After a recent failed relationship she may not be quite ready for Mr. Right, but is definitely interested in Mr. Fun-for-the moment-with-future-potential. The first chapter opens with a passage from a fictitious torrid romance, ‘My Boss, My Beloved’. This ‘book within the book’ is pops up in quotations and references throughout the plot and proves its worth in the finale. The main storyline is interspersed with vignettes which give the reader an insight into contemporary New Zealand life and culture. There are some lovely scenes describing the settings in Queenstown and Stewart Island. If you have visited New Zealand, you will appreciate the descriptions of flora and fauna in southern New Zealand, if not you may be inspired to go there and see it for yourself. The synopsis says this is a stand-alone novel, but hopefully we will hear more about Ms. Cooper in books to come. Chick lit at its light-hearted best.

She might be very good write for a travel magazine describing places By Mayra Johnson Misspelling and giving the wrong name to people, is just 2 of the many thins wrong with her writing. And the read in past tense all about what was going on wheel we were reading description of the surrounding that had nothing to so with the story..... She might be very good write for a travel magazine describing places.
