By pamela shirley Not a commentary on 1 John, but an excellent book on how to interpret it (with explanations on certai verses). Many people interpret it as though it was written to non-believers, or to so-called believers to present "tests" to evaluate one's "faith". However, this book approaches the letter as being written to GENUINE believers concerning, not one's salvation, but one's fellowship with God as a believer. Wherever you stand, theologically, I would encourage you to wrestle with the thesis of this book. It will at least result in greater understanding of views with which you may either agree or disagree.
