About the Author Liz Climo grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Los Angeles after college to work as a character artist on The Simpsons. By FRUHD I'm a little biased since I am infatuated with Liz Climo's work, but this book was everything I thought it would be and then some. I'm going to love reading and rereading it when I'm feeling calm, happy, overwhelmed, bored, stressed, whenever, and I'll definitely be getting it for potato friends to read to their tots. Climo has this amazing way of showing so much expression and feeling through beady little eyeballs and puffy cuddly renditions of animals. Rory's dad makes Rory's expedition seamlessly safe, with Rory none the wiser, but dad's love and efforts to care for his little one are clearly shown to the onlooker.I almost want a little one from this book alone. Almost. Maybe I'll settle for a stuffed dinosaur.

Parents are always there and take care of their children By Helpful Advice ‘Rory the Dinosaur: Me and My Dad’ made by Liz Climo is nicely made book for the youngest readers that speaks about the parental care, about keeping the children safe even when they are not aware of it.The young reader will be introduced to Rory, the young dinosaur who lives on an island with his Dad. Rory has so much energy and whole day he is doing the countless activities, play and has lot of fun.But Rory’s Dad is also great companion, he takes Rory all around – fishing and looking for seashells or teaching Rory how nice is to read. But when Rory’s Dad will want a few minutes for himself, Rory will go alone for the adventures. And though Rory will think that he is all alone, his Dad will always be somewhere near taking care of his beloved son…‘Rory the Dinosaur’ is a very good book for 3-4 years old children to emphasize them the importance of parental love and care, while providing easy-to-read story filled with simple but entertaining illustrations.There is not too much text on each spread, up to two short sentences, what also makes this book interesting given that even the youngest readers will easily keep the attention for its 40 pages.Speaking about the illustrations, Liz Climo chose to use the digital illustrations –simple, with cleans lines and bold colors, without too much details that is suitable for the audience this book is intended for.The lesson this picture book brought is very nice and in same time comforting for the children - parents are always there and take care of their children to be safe, even if their kids are not aware of them. Therefore, with ‘‘Rory the Dinosaur: Me and My Dad’ the author Liz Climo made warm, emotional and educational book that can be both recommended for its child-friendly theme and artwork.

I like how, even though Rory is going on an adventure, he still “listens” to his dad (Rory “isn’t allowed to swim without his dad.”) and follows his rules. Rory is a good kid. The illustrations include some humor for adults/older readers (like the titles on the books Rory’s dad reads – “Roar and Peace” :) ) The book is a great story about parents watching our for their kids but still letting them have an adventure. All in all, it’s a great mixture of fun for everyone.*NOTE* I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
