About the Author Harriet Ziefert: Harriet Ziefert is the acclaimed author of over 300 books for children. As an educator, Harriet was among the founding pioneers in the development and teaching of what today is known as the Common Core Curriculum. Brigette Barrager: Brigette Barrager is an artist, designer, illustrator and writer of children's books. She attended the California Institute of the Arts for Character Animation, where she earned herself a degree. Brigette spent some time at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios before taking the plunge into freelance, where she's lived happily ever after. She resides in Los Angeles with her handsome husband, cute doggy, and a terrible cat.

It talks about how weather works to create rain in a language children can understand. The little girl asks where her kitty went in the rain. Then, the book talks about: where butterflies go and why, the different amounts of rain and what squirrels do in it, little birds, ducks....... I even learned a thing or two that I have wondered about for years, like why worms come out of the ground when it rains (to enjoy squiggling in the rain). This is truly educational and fun!!!!Thank you Harriet Ziefert, Bridgette Barrager and Eidelweiss for giving me a free book to read and give my honest review.

By Lonestar_808 I got this for my 4 year old daughter for as one of her Christmas gifts and although I don't read ALL of the page to her at this time ( only the little story about looking for Kitty ) She totally loves it...it's perfect for her attention span at the moment and as she gets older I can read more of the science explanations and questions on the pages. We really love the beautiful and cute illustrations.

The illustrations are well done and kids love the little facts that are written on each age about the animals and if they DO or DON't love the rain.I was just confused about finding the cat. They should mention that at the beginning of the book, not the end.
